A Different Kind of Retail

In Cholula retail is bouncing back. It may not look like the retail you are thinking about but this tianguis, the traditional Aztec market, possibly the oldest in Mexico, returned this month after closing for COVID. It was the first time this ancient market has closed in it's long history. That the art of buying, selling and bartering was alive and well at this once a year event might be a good news harbinger for traditional retail. More detail here
